Victims first. Action now
Conference
Guided by the slogan “Victims first. Action now”, CED20 marks the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 20 December 2006.
On that occasion, the Committee on Enforced Disappearances, the Global Alliance for Human Rights and the Geneva Human Rights Hub invite you all to take part in an event on 24 September 2026, last day of the Committee’s 31st session, from 3pm to 6pm CET.
Experts of the UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances and of the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, drafters of the Convention, victims of all regions of the world, States, National Human Rights Institutions, artists and the academia will gather in presence of the Deputy High Commissioner, Ms. Awa Dabo, to take stock of the work carried out by the Committee over the past 20 years; look at the way forward; and launch the new initiative of the Global Alliance: We Are Still Here - Putting Victims at the Centre of the Human Rights Movement.
