Jennifer Victoria Scurrell

Dr. Jennifer Victoria Scurrell is a scientist and founder working at the intersection of human-AI interaction, responsible AI, and AI safety. As a consultant for the Geneva Human Rights Hub (GHRH), she brings specialized expertise in pluralistic value alignment and the conceptualization of harmful AI manipulation to the human rights domain.

Jennifer is an incoming postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich’s Chair of Political Methodology and serves as the CTO of an AI safety stealth startup. Her broader research includes a Public AI Fellowship exploring the AI preferences of Swiss residents, alongside her role as the DACH region representative for the global Plurality movement centered around Audrey Tang and Glen E. Weyl. Bridging science and culture, she also collaborates on Science-Arts initiatives with the Schauspielhaus Zürich and produces performance art projects to communicate complex technology concepts to diverse audiences.

An expert in AI red teaming, Jennifer is a member of OpenAI’s Red Teaming Network, serves as an external expert for Microsoft, and was a PhD Research Intern at Microsoft Research. She earned her PhD from ETH Zurich in 2026, where her dissertation examined how AI chatbots influence human opinions and behavior in group environments. She also holds an MA in Political Science and a BA in Political Science and Modern History from the University of Zurich. Her prior experience includes serving as a research collaborator at the Military Academy at ETH Zurich (MILAK) and interning at the European Parliament in Brussels, where she contributed to the EU’s GDPR.
