Sözeri Şahin

Sözeri Şahin is an intern at the Geneva Human Rights Hub, where he supports GHRH activities, including training courses, events, research, communications and coordination.

He is currently pursuing a Master in International and Development Studies at the Geneva Graduate Institute, specializing in Human Rights and Humanitarianism, building on his MSc in Sociology from the University of Oxford and his double major in Sociology and Philosophy at Koç University.

Before joining the Hub, Sözeri interned with FIAN International, where he followed Human Rights Council sessions, conducted advocacy-related research, and supported communications. He has also contributed to research and communications projects with WHO, UNDP and UNV, conducted policy-oriented research on prison conditions and justice-involved individuals in Türkiye, and served as Research Administrator for the Turkey Without Cages campaign, focusing on effective ways to improve the living conditions of farmed animals.

His current academic and professional interests include the UN human rights system, institutional communications, the right to food, criminal justice, and the relationship between human rights and digital technologies.
