Regionalization has emerged as one strand of the wider discussion on strengthening the treaty body system, particularly in relation to accessibility, participation and follow-up. This paper explores the different forms that more regionally connected engagement could take, the opportunities and practical implications they present, and how they could complement Geneva-based processes within a more predictable treaty body reporting cycle.
