Digital Technologies and AI for Human Rights
Digital Technologies and AI for Human Rights Monitoring
Human rights monitoring is increasingly shaped by the growing availability of digital tools and data systems that allow information to be collected, organized and analyzed at scale. Across international organizations, governments, national human rights institutions and civil society, digital tools and databases are emerging to track recommendations, document developments and follow progress in implementation.
The Geneva Human Rights Hub examines this evolving landscape, with particular attention to the ecosystem of human rights software used to monitor recommendations from UN human rights mechanisms, regional systems and national processes. Building on this work, the Hub explores how emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, can strengthen the analysis and use of human rights information. By bringing together human rights practitioners, policymakers, data scientists and technology developers, it provides a space to assess how innovation can support more effective monitoring while remaining grounded in human rights principles.
